A. Pan-Tilt Head Faults. A common pan-tilt head malfunction is that it soon becomes unresponsive or completely unable to rotate after a short period of use. Aside from product quality issues, this is mainly caused by the following reasons: A pan-tilt head designed for upright mounting (i.e., the camera sits on top of the pan-tilt head turntable) is used with a suspended mounting method (i.e., the camera is mounted below the pan-tilt head turntable). In this case, the suspended mounting method increases the load on the pan-tilt head, leading to damage to the transmission mechanism or even burnt-out motors shortly after use. The total weight of the camera and its protective housing exceeds the pan-tilt head's load-bearing capacity. Especially for outdoor pan-tilt heads, the protective housing is often too heavy, frequently causing the pan-tilt head to be unable to rotate (particularly vertically). Outdoor pan-tilt heads may malfunction or even be damaged due to excessively high or low ambient temperatures, or inadequate waterproofing or antifreeze measures.

B. At excessive distance, the control keyboard cannot remotely control the camera (including the lens) and pan-tilt head via the decoder. This is mainly because at excessive distance, the control signal attenuates too much, resulting in a weak control signal received by the decoder. At this point, a repeater box should be installed at a certain distance to amplify and reshape the control signal.

C. The monitor's image contrast is too low, and the image is pale. This phenomenon is either due to a problem with the control host or the monitor itself, or the transmission distance is too long or the video transmission line attenuates too much. In this case, a line amplification and compensation device should be added.

D. The image clarity is low, details are lost, and in severe cases, color signals are lost or color saturation is too low. This is due to excessive loss at the high-frequency end of the image signal, resulting in the near loss of signals above 3MHz. This situation may be caused by excessive transmission distance without intermediate amplification and compensation devices; excessive distributed capacitance of the video transmission cable; or concentrated equivalent capacitance between the core wire and shield wire of the transmission line in the transmission link.

E. Color distortion. This is a common fault phenomenon in long-distance video baseband transmission. The main cause is excessive phase shift in the high-frequency band of the signal due to the transmission line. In this case, a phase compensator should be added.

F. The operation keyboard is malfunctioning. If the wiring is found to be fine, this phenomenon can generally be attributed to a keyboard "freezing". The keyboard's instruction manual usually includes methods to resolve "freezing", such as "system reset", which can be used to solve the problem. If this doesn't work, the keyboard itself may be damaged.

G. Incomplete image switching by the host. This fault manifests as interference from other images superimposed on the selected screen, or interference from the horizontal synchronization signals of other images. This is caused by a poor-quality matrix switch on the host, failing to meet the required isolation between images. If an RF transmission system is used, it could also be due to excessive cross-modulation and intermodulation. A large-scale CCTV system linked to a burglar alarm is a highly technical and complex system. While various faults can occur, as long as the quality of the selected equipment and materials is carefully controlled and construction is strictly carried out according to standards and specifications, major problems are generally avoided. Even if problems do occur, calm analysis and targeted solutions are crucial; avoid indiscriminate disassembly and reorganization.
